 i Xinjian graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1982 and volunteered to work in Tibet as curator of the Exhibition Hall of Lassa. From 1984-1988, Li Xinjian worked on the wall paintings and explored the Himalayas to complete the performance“Hima-Langma”. Then He studied oil painting in National Academy of fine art, Paris. His works contain a particular Rubenesque style, filled with vigorous full-blooded figures, sometimes even intangibly light. With the theme of body, ocean, youth, he depicts a world of primitive simplicity, savagery, danger and strange innocence.
Li Xinjian now lives and works in Beijing. |
